Job Summary

This intermediate-level position is responsible for implementing and monitoring of corrosion control programs and integrity projects on assets including, but not limited to pipelines, wells, production facilities and processing plants. Provides corrosion controls activities, such as cathodic protection, coatings, chemicals, etc for the pipeline assets. Maintains records related to corrosion mitigation and monitoring activities, failure tracking, chemical usage, cost tracking and project status. Serves as on-site coordinator for management of corrosion control and integrity management projects for new construction and maintenance of existing assets. Responsible for collecting data to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State pipeline safety regulations related to corrosion control and integrity management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in the internal corrosion prevention efforts and programs.
  • Participates in Federal and State audit efforts and programs.
  • Insures that deficiencies are effectively corrected within a timely manner.
  • Provides documentation, timely submission and entry of all corrosion related data.
  • Participates in the corrosion prevention projects as assigned.
  • Participates with the development and maintenance of the corrosion prevention projects budget, report status to management as required.
  • Provides technical guidance and remedial action recommendations, documentation and the timely submission of all compliance related data.
  • Manages corrosion prevention projects as assigned.
  • Assist in the development of the less experienced Corrosion Technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specific Skills

  • Knowledge of the various Federal and State pipeline regulations including corrosion control and industry standards
  • Knowledge and practical working experience in pipeline corrosion prevention methods
  • Ability to possess a valid driver's license.


  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum: Other - NACE CP2 or Corrosion Technologist Certification
  • Minimum: Other - NACE Basic Internal Corrosion Course - Successful Completion


  • Minimum: 5 - 8 years pipeline corrosion prevention or equivalent or, two years of experience in pipeline corrosion prevention or equivalent with an associate's degree in a technical related discipline

Additional Qualifications

  • NACE CIP1 Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Ultrasonic Testing preferred.
