Job Summary
This summer intern position provides technical and administrative support, under direct supervision, to assist with engineering and/or development planning operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs data management activities, which include loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, analyzing and reporting data related to engineering operations
- Performs simple engineering calculations and gathers/tabulates data
- Assists with coordinating data transfer and updating shared data sources among departments
- Utilizes software and/or programming languages to discover trends in operational data and reports. Examples include Spotfire, PowerBI, Excel, Access, Python, R, etc.)
- Applies skills and concepts to ensure data integrity, data reliability and data accessibility throughout the group
- Compiles data, communicates, and provides information to engineers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
- Basic ability to use logic, critical thinking skills, and methods to solve complex problems with effective solutions
- Basic ability to quickly learn new corporate software
- Basic ability to build numerical and analytical tools using standard industry and corporate software
- Basic knowledge of PC/mainframe systems
- Basic knowledge of database application software
- Ability to use Excel and other analytical software for data manipulation
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Minimum: Enrolled and pursuing bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Engineering Technology, Math, Science, Finance, Economics, or related field
Preferred: Other - Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
