Job Summary
Chesapeake Energy Corporation is interviewing for a full-time summer Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory internship position in our HSER Department. An ideal candidate will be pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in occupational safety management, engineering path, industrial safety, or occupational safety & health. Successful candidates will be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, business driven environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the HSER team in the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of CHKS HSER programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Provide HSER support for designated projects as directed by HSE supervisor
- Work to understand company HSER related metrics and provide recommendations to optimize performance
- Learn to identify, understand, and mitigate hazards and risks associated with daily field operations and other risks that may impact organizational objectives.
- Lead and/or participate in emergency response planning, drills, and real life scenarios
- Participate in Industrial Hygiene testing and compliance activities as necessary
- Assist in the development and implementation of technical documents including but not limited to Health and Safety standards, procedures, programs, Safety Alerts, and guidance documents.
- Participate in Chesapeake internship activities and meetings
- Participate in field activities to promote HSER programs and practices
- At the end of the internship make a presentation to the HSER Leadership Team on the internship experience sharing best practices

Education
- Pursuing an undergraduate or master degree in Occupational Safety Management, any Engineering path, Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
- Graduating in December 2025 or later
- 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) GPA or equivalent.
