Job Summary

The Intern position will gain hands-on experience that may include research, analysis and providing support to staff within an assigned area of responsibility.  This internship position will be based in one of our field locations which will be determined at a later date.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with analyzing and interpreting engineering data for various assignments which may include: solving engineering problems, production optimization, well planning, cost analysis, completions evaluations, reservoir characterization, etc.
  • Assists Engineers in designing, planning, and execution of the company's drilling program.
  • Drafts and defends technical reports for engineering and management personnel.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Chesapeake's Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

This position may require the use of a company vehicle and applicants must be a Qualified Driver.  A Driver that is properly licensed and legally permitted to operate a motor vehicle.  Employees who drive on company business must have a current, valid license for the vehicles they drive.

  • Ability to deliver presentations and write technical papers.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities and apply learning across regions and operating areas.
  • Basic knowledge of drilling operations.
  • Ability to solve problems applicable to well operations, logistics, sourcing and safety.

Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree from accredited university in an Engineering program at an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) program required.
    • Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.

Additional Qualifications

  • Will graduate no earlier than December 2025
  • Meets the definition of qualified driver
