Job Summary

This entry level position is responsible for securing and managing markets for the transportation or sale of natural gas products, under direct supervision, in order to optimize revenue to the company. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating natural gas agreements for company operated wells with non-affiliated and affiliated midstream and transportation companies
  • Assists with fundamental analysis and market surveillance to determine the need for pipeline capacity in the basins developed by the company and submits proposals to senior management for approval
  • Assists with marketing the company's natural gas products through term sales and spot sales to markets
  • Interacts with internal and external clients, including upstream/downstream operations teams, midstream, legal, credit and contract administration, and other key business partners on a daily basis
  • Develops, cultivates and manages relationships with end-users and other key markets in the marketing area
  • Responsible for the daily trading of natural gas volumes across multiple assets 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specific Skills

  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Basic knowledge of midstream asset operations
  • Basic knowledge of gas sales and marketing
  • Basic knowledge of macro supply/demand fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of physical and financial trading tools required to meet economic objects
  • Basic contract writing skills, including industry standard terms and conditions of service
  • Basic knowledge of basin fundamentals and competitor information

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Marketing, Energy Management, Finance or related fields

Experience

  • Minimum: 0 - 2 years related work experience
