Job Summary

This entry-level position in Chesapeake’s Operations Support Center (OSC) is responsible for providing technology administration and support for real-time data systems across production, drilling, and completions operations. Systems include SCADA on producing well-sites, Drilling EDRs on rigs, and data systems on Frac vans. This includes configuring systems and troubleshooting problems related to data acquisition, networking, software, database issues, and radio communications. Interfaces closely with field operations, the Operations Support Center, and various other departments regarding telemetry data and real-time data systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming data feeds from real-time systems (Drilling, Completions, Production, and Geology)
  • Provides baseline technology and phone support (tier 1) for SCADA and other real-time operations data platforms
  • Provides system level maintenance including new well and communications additions
  • Identify and analyze data availability issues to determine cause, and take proper actions to resolve
  • Track, document, and communicate data issues
  • Communicate with third-party service providers, internal technical teams, and field personnel to identify and resolve issues
  • Use various data manipulation techniques and functions to correct bad data and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Troubleshoot issues with field and OSC staff to resolve data or system issues.
  • Analyze and track fleet movement(Drilling Rigs, Frac Crews) to ensure data availability from well spud through completion
  • Develop a sound working knowledge of drilling, completions, and production operations in order to properly identify data quality and configuration issues
  • Develop keen understanding of data capture, transmission, and visualization process.
  • Develop working knowledge of remote communications, RTU Principles, control systems, and automation fundamentals
  • Maintain, manage, and develop knowledge repositories for use of the data support team
  • Other related duties as required

    • 12 Hour Shifts
    • Alternating Early/Late shifts
    • 14 Days on, 14 Days off rotation

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university

Experience

  • Minimum: 0 - 2 years related work experience
