Job Summary

This intermediate-level position analyzes real-time drilling operations for hazard avoidance and optimization opportunities. Directly interacts with geosteering personnel for assistance in wellbore placement. Directly interacts with field and office personnel for reporting and data analytics assistance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors, analyzes, and interprets real-time field operations data which may include field alarms, measurement, production and drilling data
  • Provides analytical and technical support to managers, engineers and field staff in all stages of development
  • Identify drilling best practices and issues by performing trend analysis, creating probability distributions and completing data quality projects
  • May maintain databases through loading, verifying, manipulating, analyzing and reporting operations data
  • May ensure data integrity efforts, data reliability and accessibility by building queries, developing logic and writing code in existing systems
  • May provide guidance to field personnel as required on industry best practices, standards and efficiency efforts
  • Generates high quality reports and presentations for field staff, departmental and upper management use
  • Generates reports and provides accurate information to internal clients, regulatory agencies and other Business Units

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers and system users
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrates excellent computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and is able to learn company specific applications
  • Possesses a working knowledge of drilling practices, parameters, and well placement

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university

Experience

  • Minimum: 2 - 5 years
