Job Summary
This entry level position prepares accounting reports and analyzes accounting information in order to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability and other accounting information.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with daily accounting functions including but not limited to revenue, revenues payable, revenue distribution, cash management and revenue check input and valuation
- Reviews and organizes accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Helps prepare various account reconciliations/analysis
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
- Basic knowledge of and ability to apply professional accounting principles, theories, concepts and terms
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, database software and the automated accounting system used in the department
- Basic knowledge of the structure, policies and operating details of the accounting system or segment thereof for which responsible
- Ability to classify accounting transactions, maintain and reconcile accounts, close accounts and prepare reports and statements
Education
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Accounting, Finance or related field
Experience
- Minimum: 0 - 2 years related work experience
