Job Summary

The IT Engineer II is an intermediate level position responsible for designing and implementing computer and information systems under general supervision. Supports the planning, installation, operation, and maintenance of computer and information networks.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports the planning, provisioning, installation, enhancements and decommissioning of systems and services.
  • Diagnoses software problems, using established procedures.
  • Implements measures to protect data, software and hardware.
  • Maintains documentation of installations, configurations, maintenance procedures, etc.
  • May interact with vendors for information coordination, products and services.
  • Seeks ways to improve performance, expand services, serve new purposes or improve workflows.
  • Develops and supports business relationships with IT project teams and business customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science or related field



Minimum: 2 - 5 years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Build scalability, repeatability, reliability, security into systems and supporting processes with a focus on modern architectures and services, such as cloud, mobile, virtualization, distributed applications (microservices) and CI/CD software delivery operations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risk and bottlenecks impacting infrastructure and applications with solutions featuring improved reliability, performance, monitoring, reporting, and reduction of complexity.
  • Conduct postmortem analysis after system outages or process breakdowns to determine cause and provide recommendations or solutions to ensure future stability/continuity.
  • Develop software solutions which introduce efficiency through automation, simplification, and innovation.
  • Enable and facilitate modernization of existing legacy applications.
  • Advise on selection and introduction of new SRE-related systems and tools. Conduct evaluation, implementation and administration of SRE systems and tools.
  • General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, cloud (Azure, AWS, etc), networks, security, development and scripting skills.
