Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience in Snowflake, Enterprise Data Modeling, Cloud Warehousing Architectures, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse and enterprise model solutions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•    Design, develop, and maintain the data warehouse and solutions using Snowflake, dbt, HVR, and other technologies
•    Develop and maintain data models for enterprise data solutions along with appropriate unit tests for them, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across the data warehouse
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Stakeholders, Business Analysts, and Software Developers to identify and define data requirements
•    Implement and maintain automated data pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency
•    Develop and maintain technical documentation for data warehouse and solutions
•    Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities, adhering to SDLC best practices
•    Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to optimize data engineering processes and improve data quality and accessibility
•    Mentor and train junior team members, and actively collaborate with other peers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Job Specific Skills

•    Expertise in Enterprise Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
•    Strong experience in cloud warehousing architectures
•    Strong knowledge of SDLC processes, including Agile methodologies and use of CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
•    High proficiency in SQL, including use of dbt for SQL data modeling
•    Experience using data replication tools and technologies, such as HVR
•    Experience using Automic (or UC4) for job scheduling
•    Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other relevant programming/scripting languages
•    Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a live production environment
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science or related field

Experience

  • Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
