Job Summary

This advanced level position performs financial and commodity market analysis and industry specific research in order to summarize financial information for internal awareness and improve the interest of the organization with the financial community.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains Investor Relations PowerPoint on corporate website and for use at conferences, non-deal roadshows, town halls, shale school and various other meetings
  • Create new slides, graphs, and charts for Investor Relations materials
  • Builds, maintains, and updates various financial and benchmarking models
  • Assists in writing and edits for CHK earnings and press releases
  • Coordinates interdepartmental information flow and sharing. Reviews and fact checks documents from various departments for internal and external distribution
  • Leads research projects for management
  • Liaisons between operations, geology and GIS in order to create and maintain accurate operations maps
  • Monitors and disseminates equity and commodity market data daily
  • Tracks and benchmarks competitor data
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specific Skills


  • Highly developed ability to analyze financial information, including SEC/GAAP financials to produce forecasts and models of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions
  • Strong ability to monitor and track fundamental economic, industrial, stock, and corporate developments through the analysis of information obtained from various sources and prepare reports
  • Advanced ability to review and provide executive summaries on peer company news releases and transcripts of conference calls, and other research studies and analysis as needed
  • Ability to contribute to quarterly forecasts by providing supporting analysis, assumptions, coordination of planning vs. actual data
  • Ability to work under pressure, deliver timely results and occasionally work beyond standard corporate hours


  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Accounting, Finance or related degree
  • Preferred: Master's degree - from accredited university - Accounting, Finance or related degree
  • Preferred: CPA or CFA License


  • Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
