Job Summary
This senior level position is responsible for securing and managing markets for the transportation or sale of natural gas products, under limited supervision in order to optimize revenue to the company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Solicits, evaluates, and negotiates natural gas agreements for company operated wells with non-affiliated and affiliated midstream and transportation companies
- Performs fundamental analysis and market surveillance to determine the need for pipeline capacity in the basins developed by the company and submits proposals to senior management for approval
- Tracks basin level production as compared to capacity in order to determine transportation needs
- Corresponds with pipelines and industry contacts as the company representative to gather necessary information
- Negotiates basic terms of sale/purchase, gathering and/or transportation with customers/clients
- Markets the company's natural gas products through term sales and spot sales to markets
- Drafts service contracts including drafting terms and conditions of service
- Interacts with internal and external clients and other key business partners on a daily basis
- Develops, cultivates and manages relationships with end-users and other key markets in the marketing area
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
- Advanced knowledge of financial markets and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Advanced knowledge of midstream asset operations
- Advanced knowledge of gas sales and marketing
- Advanced knowledge of macro supply/demand fundamentals
- Advanced knowledge of physical and financial trading tools required to meet economic objects
- Advanced contract writing skills, including industry standard terms and conditions of service
- Advanced knowledge of basin fundamentals and competitor information
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Marketing, Energy Management, Finance or related fields
Experience
- Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
