Sr. SCADA Analyst

Job Summary

This senior-level position is responsible for providing technology support for SCADA software platforms, with limited supervision. This includes troubleshooting problems related to networking, software design, database issues, radio communications, and user error. Processes SCADA requests and provides subject matter expertise. Interfaces closely with field operations personnel and the Operations Support Center.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides advanced technology support for SCADA software platforms.
  • Provides phone support for SCADA host application issues.
  • Provides system level maintenance including new well and communications additions.
  • Troubleshoots data issues within and across systems.
  • Conducts field personnel training.
  • Provides end-user training to field personnel.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced analysts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specific Skills
  • Strong knowledge of computers, both hardware and software
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas automation fundamentals.
  • Strong experience with SCADA systems, such as CygNet, Ignition, Wonderware, ClearSCADA, etc
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Able to assist and direct users remotely.
  • Able to be on call 24/7 during assigned rotation.
  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
  • Preferred: 3+ years hands on experience with CygNet SCADA applications (Cygnet Vision, CygNet Explorer, Cygnet Studio, FMS, CygNet Utilities)
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience designing screens with CygNet Studio preferred
  • NET, (C#) and VBScript experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of standard communication protocols (Modbus, ROC Plus etc.)  and TCP/IP communications preferred
  • Experience with MS SQL Server preferred
  • Experience with field devices such as Emerson ROC and Lufkin controllers preferred
