Job Summary

This senior level position will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and developing strategies that support the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to support the development of strategic plans and ensure they are aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives
  • QC financial and technical model inputs, coordinates semi-annual updates and in-depth reviews
  • Analyze portfolio outputs to support capital allocation decisions
  • Leverages financial and technical acumen to identify issues and resolutions affecting profitability
  • Conducts extensive market research and competitor analysis to gather valuable insights, identify opportunities, and trends, and communicate these findings to management
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize the organization’s risk
  • Supports Investor Relations by creating consistent and clear communication for industry analysts and investment community
  • Support Marketing Team in the evaluation and development of our strategies and contracts
  • Provides hedging analysis and insights to leadership team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development of Field Development Plans
  • Works on complex technical projects or business issues
  • Support efforts in developing presentations for the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders

Job Specific Skills

  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of volumetric calculations, decline curve reserve determinations, appropriate analogue techniques and material balance assessments
  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of economic evaluation and reserve assessment for exploration programs, development drilling programs, work overs and production optimization opportunities
  • Moderate knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, derivative contracts, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Moderate knowledge of oil and gas marketing contracts
  • Enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including experience in modeling and linear programming
  • Moderate knowledge of VBA and data visualization software experience
  • Moderate knowledge of Aries and Spotfire
  • Ability to use rigorous logic, critical thinking skills and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions

Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree - from accredited university
  • Minimum: One of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) program, or
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or
  • Master’s degree - from accredited university - Master’s of Engineering degree from a program in which the correlating Bachelor’s degree is accredited by the ABET EAC

Experience

  • Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
