Job Summary

This senior level position is responsible for providing support for the Marketing and Trading department, under the direction of the Director - Marketing & Transportation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Dynamically manage FT portfolio, capacity release, and AMA program
  • Assist team by identifying transportation optimization, arbitrage, and segmentation opportunities
  • Actively pursue opportunities to release capacity from 3rd parties that is strategic to expands assets 
  • Analyze pipelines/grid dynamics to identify, create, and maximize opportunities to create incremental value
  • Work with Marketing Reps to identify and execute on optimization opportunities
  • Provide backup daily marketing duties as directed, including potential participation in “on call” rotation
  • Analyze basis spreads and transportation economics for transport valuation exercises, capacity auctions, and capacity releases
  • Monitor operational pipeline issues and constraints on a daily basis and communicate possible concerns and potential mitigants to adequately prepare for daily and monthly gas trading
  • Maintain and improve upon internal system to track transportation contracts and relevant contract details
  • Lead negotiations of daily, monthly, and long-term firm and interruptible transportation as requested by management
  • Monitor pipeline information postings and press releases to identify new expansion/transportation opportunities
  • Maintain internal system to track capacity release and asset management agreements
  • Create and maintain business relationships with customers through direct visits, industry functions and phone contact
  • Work with Contract Administration to ensure all transportation contracts are entered and maintained accurately in internal contract admin system
     

Job Specific Skills

  • Working knowledge of natural gas pipeline grid and tariffs, gas sales contracts and gas transportation agreements, preferably in the Northeast
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Strong economic evaluation/ analytical skills
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Concise reporting skills
  • Ability to multi-task, while staying focused and aligned with team and corporate goals
  • Able to build relationships and is excellent in communicating with customers
  • Good presentation and technical writing skills

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Business related major or Engineering

Experience

Minimum: 5 - 8+ years of transportation or scheduling experience
